Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Important: This policy is provided as a template for Budget Motor Medics and should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before being relied upon as a binding privacy notice.
1. Introduction
Budget Motor Medics ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, request a quote, book a service, request a mobile callout, submit feedback, or enter one of our competitions, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. Who We Are
Budget Motor Medics is a South African automotive repair and maintenance business (Company Reg. No. 2026/205465/07), operating from Zwartkop, Centurion and providing mobile callout services. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy. Our Information Officer is Matias Ndeve, Owner. You can reach us on 0680410709 or budgetmotormedics@gmail.com.
3. Information We Collect
We only ask for the information we actually need to help you. Depending on how you use our site, this may include: your name, email address and phone number; your vehicle make, model, year, mileage and the service you need; your preferred booking date and time and your chosen payment method; the physical address and location type where you want a mobile callout to take place; notes you add about your vehicle or the fault you are experiencing; the estimated price range we calculate for you; and the content and star rating of any feedback you submit. We do not collect banking details, card numbers, passwords or ID numbers through this website.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to prepare and send you a quote, confirm and manage your booking or mobile service request, contact you about the status of your vehicle or job, calculate deposits and send payment and EFT instructions, deliver confirmation emails and service reminders, respond to feedback and resolve complaints, administer a competition and notify winners, and keep records required for accounting, tax and warranty purposes. We will not use your details for marketing messages you have not asked for, and you can ask us to stop any contact at any time.
5. Our Legal Basis
We process your personal information on the basis of your consent (given when you submit a form), because it is necessary to perform a contract with you (to carry out the repair or service you have booked), because it is necessary for our legitimate business interests (to answer enquiries and protect our services), or because a law requires us to (for example tax and accounting record-keeping).
6. Sharing Your Information
We never sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to deliver the service: our email delivery provider, which sends your booking and quote confirmations; our payment partners, where you choose to pay by card or an online gateway, in which case the payment is processed by that provider and we never see or store your full card details; and our workshop and technical staff who need the details to complete your job. Where a supplier or service provider processes information on our behalf, they are bound by confidentiality and may only use it for that purpose. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, such as in response to a valid court order.
7. Reviews and Public Content
Our website displays genuine Google reviews, which are published by Google under their own privacy policy. When you leave a review on Google, it is public and visible to others. Feedback you submit through our own feedback form is kept internally and is not published on this website without your permission.
8. Retention
We keep your information only for as long as we need it. Booking, quote and mobile service records, together with the related invoice and warranty details, are kept for five years to meet South African tax and accounting requirements. Competition entries are kept until the promotion has been judged and winners have been notified, and are then deleted unless you ask us to keep you informed about future promotions. Feedback is kept to improve our service and is removed when you ask us to.
9. Security
Your information is stored on secure servers with access restricted to authorised staff who need it to do their work. We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted connections, access controls and audit logs that record who created, changed or cancelled a booking. If a security breach ever puts your information at risk, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
10. Cookies and Website Data
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences and understand which pages and services are most useful. These do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
11. Your Rights
Under POPIA you may: ask us what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it; ask us to correct or update information that is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or out of date; ask us to delete or destroy your information; object to us processing your information; and object to direct marketing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us on 0680410709 or budgetmotormedics@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before we release records, and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
12. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Transfers Outside South Africa
Some of our service providers, such as our website hosting and email delivery platforms, may process information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we make sure the provider maintains safeguards that are substantially similar to those required by POPIA.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top of the page shows when it was most recently revised.
15. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to exercise any of your rights, please contact Budget Motor Medics on 0680410709 or budgetmotormedics@gmail.com, or visit us in Zwartkop, Centurion.
